{Giveaway} 1 MomHeart Conference Ticket

Have you ever wished you had a mentor? Someone who has gone before you and is willing to share from her heart the good and the bad about motherhood? If you said, “Yes” then let me introduce you to a dear friend of mine, a gifted author, a wonderful speaker and a loving mother and wife. Her name is Sally Clarkson and if you’ve been around Good Morning Girls long enough, you’ll know that I LOVE her!! God has gifted Sally to speak right to our “Mom Hearts”…..speaking words of wisdom, love and encouragement. Don’t we all need to hear those types of words as we are raising the next generation to love God with all their hearts, minds and souls?  I know I do!

I’ve had the pleasure of attending 3 of Sally’s annual Mom Heart conferences and I have always walked away refreshed and encouraged as a mom and wife. Recently Sally contacted me and offered one FREE ticket to my Good Morning Girl readers to attend the conference of her choice!!! I’m soo excited about this because I know whoever wins this ticket is going to be extremely blessed!!

The theme for her conferences this year is HOPE ,which is based off of Sally and Sarah Mae’s new book “Desperate”, and how appropriate since we are talking about the hope we have through Christ this week!

A personal invite from Sally to YOU!

“Motherhood is daunting. It is also delightful, fulfilling, and rewarding, but it can be daunting. There are times in every mother’s life when the less-wonderful aspects of motherhood can begin to feel like a wet, heavy blanket of desperation draped over your spirit. That’s why Sarah Mae and I wrote Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, which inspired this year’s Mom Heart Conference theme, “I Take Hope ~ Moving through Desperate to Destiny.” You need to take hope in the promises and truths of God to make it through those inevitable wet blanket days. That’s why I want every mother to return home from this conference with a heart full of hope. Not just a passing feeling, but a lasting conviction that God is living and active in you and your children. The kind of hope that will move you from desperate to destiny. It will be a weekend of refreshment, inspiration, encouragement, and fellowship you will not want to miss. Join us!”

It’s okay to be imperfect….

It’s okay to be imperfect.

Some days I have to remind myself that, over and over again….. “it’s okay…..”

Much of our society these days makes us feel like we as women, moms, daughters….even little girls…..need to portray an image of perfection.

We have our media to thank for that.

We can’t turn on the TV or read a magazine in line at the grocery store without being told that through the photoshopped advertisements, articles and commercials.

Sometimes we even have ourselves to thank for that….

But I am not a perfect woman.

I am not a perfect wife.

And I’m most definitely not a perfect mom.

I struggle against my own expectations and those I feel put on by others and society in general.

I struggle against my feelings of just not being “enough..”

Join me today at Mom Heart where I discuss the freedom we have in Christ from having to be perfect! I’d LOVE to hear how you pass this freedom onto your children!

My Spiritual Legacy

You never know how extending an invitation can change a family’s course…..today I’d like to share with you a very special story. A story that is near and dear to my heart. This is my spiritual legacy…..

I have a story to share with you today, a “Once Upon a Time” kind of story except this story does have a date in which it takes place, the 1960’s and instead of it happening in a land far away….well,it starts out in a small town in rural Indiana. And like all great stories, it starts out with children….two little girls to be exact.

One little girl named Debbie knows about God, she comes from a home where both mom and dad tuck her into bed at night and give her kisses after her prayers.

The other little girl named Diana doesn’t know about God, comes from a home where daddy left and now only her mommy tucks her into bed at night with kisses but no prayers.

Both little girls are friends at school.

Please join me today at MomHeart.Org to read the rest of this story!!! I pray it blesses and encourages you!

{Week 6} Experiencing an Ephesians 3:20 Weekend!

“God’s love has a width, length, height, and depth, but we will never reach the end of it. Our capacity to experience God’s love will be exhausted and full long before God’s capacity to give it is strained. The picture of having Christ “dwell” inside us by faith presents us with compelling and comforting possibilities. What Christ does in us and through us will always be “exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.”

- Max Lucado

I experienced an Ephesians 3:20 weekend these last few days as I spent time with Sally Clarkson, Courtney, Whitney and my own sweet Good Morning Girls group at the Mom Heart conference in Dallas. Just last year, I had attended my first Mom Heart conference with Courtney……now a year later, Courtney and I are both speaking at it! My, how your life can change in just one year! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would speak to a room full of women…..around 800 to be exact…..about the importance of being in God’s Word! Totally out of my comfort zone……TOTALLY! But God is so good! He was with me every step of the way!

I just LOVE it when God’s Word becomes ALIVE!!! I was praying Ephesians 3:16 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may STRENGTHEN you with POWER through his SPIRIT in your inner being,” as I was preparing to speak…..that God would strengthen me and give me the power I was needing through the Holy Spirit to do his will in my life. Want to know something? He’ll do the same for you! What are you facing today that you feel you can’t do in your own strength? I’m learning that’s right where God wants us sometimes…….totally out of our comfort zone and totally dependent on HIM! It’s in that uncomfortable spot…..that uncomfortable place in life where we learn to trust Him, to lean on Him and to gather our strength to do what He has called and equipped us to do. Take courage my sweet sisters……if called has called you, he will also equip you! And he won’t just equip you, he’ll “do immeasurably MORE than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”

Right before Whitney had to fly home, we made this video for you…….so sorry for the poor quality! The battery on my video camera had died by this point so I had to use my iphone..

Thanks to all our other sweet Good Morning Girls who stopped us and said “Hello!”
