Tricia3

I am so excited to announce today that the very talented and inspiring Tricia Goyer will be joining our contributing team this session! Tricia will be writing on Tuesdays and will be sharing with us practical ways we as moms can lead our families like Jesus!  Tricia recently wrote a book with authors Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges entitled: Lead Your Family Like Jesus: Powerful Parenting Principles from the Creator of Families.

Between her recent book and our upcoming study…..well it looks like a perfect fit to me! I can’t wait to begin our new session with Tricia and learn more about leading my family like Jesus! Welcome to GMG, Tricia!!!

Tricia Goyer is a busy mom of four (with two more in the adoption process), grandmother of one, and wife to John. I also wanted to let you know I have heard from a few of you that our new forum isn’t as easy to use as our previous one. We would love for you to join us this session and get connected with some new friends who will help you dig into God’s Word…….together!

Living & Leading Like Jesus- For KIDS! {Free Subscriber Download}

children are the church

Children are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today.- Rosilind Jukic

Before they celebrate double-digits they have already formed a world-view that will shape their attitudes, habits, and moral values; and as parents we play the most important role in what that world-view looks like.

It is so easy to allow our lives, our busy-ness, our deadlines, and even our children’s various activities to determine what our daily and weekly schedules look like.  So often what is most important is demoted on our list of priorities.

It is difficult to put into words how deeply passionate I am about children and training up a generation of men and women who will change the world for Jesus Christ.

This is why I am so excited to be able to share with you what the Children’s Resources team has put together for YOU, so that you may share with your children what you are learning in the Good Morning Girls Living and Leading Like Jesus study.

DSC_0821 copy

First of all, we have put together a manual that gives you practical tips on how to have a Bible time with your children.  We have divided this up into two areas: Bible time for small children and Bible time for pre-teens and teenagers.

For smaller children, we have included SOAP charts where you can write down or illustrate your children’s comments or reactions to the SOAP study. We have also included daily activities for them to do.  Some of these activities are art projects, others are family activities, assisting in community/church projects, and games.  All of these activities are geared to reinforce the daily Bible passages.

Moms with toddlers are able to do them as well.  For the more difficult activities we have provided an alternate activity for toddlers.

Once again we have paired up with the author of The Dig.  This study will use the remainder of The Dig Volume 1 and part of Volume 2. There is a separate manual that shows you how to use The Dig and provides reading charts for your children.

Additionally, we have provided colorful memory verse cards for each week in the following translations: KJV, NIV and NLT.  They are sized for you to attach them to index cards (Hint: there is a special activity in the first manual for this). To help with memorization, we have provided a number of tips and activities that aid in memorizing the weekly verses.

These manuals are packed full of helpful advice, fun projects, and colorful graphics. But best of all, they are FREE! I can guarantee that you will find them useful, not only for this study; you will certainly refer back to them over and over again.

I pray that this material will be a blessing to you and your children. Every child is born into this world with a destiny already written down by the mighty hand of a loving and creative God. We are blessed with the awesome task as parents to guide them, teach them, and train them to follow that destiny; to seek God and desire all that He has dreamed and planned for them and to fix their gaze on the prize – the high calling of Jesus Christ!

What is Good Morning Girls? (GMG)
If you have never heard of Good Morning Girls before here’s a little explanation. “Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, Twitter, Skype or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times. For 3+ years, I have been a part of a group of girls who email each other each daily after we have our quiet time. We say “Good Morning” and then share what we read in our quiet time. Some of us have our quiet time first thing in the morning, while others squeeze it in during children’s naps or at bedtime. The time of day doesn’t matter…..our focus is just being in God’s Word daily!

Who can join?
Single women, married women, women with kids, women without kids, high school or college girls….. basically ANY woman who wants to pursue walking with Jesus.

Why?
Our main goal is to be accountable to each other and to help each other maintain the discipline of reading God’s word daily as we apply what we are reading to our lives.

What’s the commitment?
Joining a Good Morning Girls group requires commitment. Now that I have had time to watch these groups form and grow, I am aware that some start strong but then fizzle out. As a result the entire group can get discouraged. So it is very important that if you join a group you remain committed to the end. Even if you can only check in once or twice a week – please do not quit completely. The other girls WANT to hear from you!

This is a 2 month commitment.
The spring session runs from March 25th-May 17th.

What To Study?
The spring SOAP Bible reading plan of Luke 9-16 is optional.
You can choose as a group to read through a certain book of the Bible together, go through one of our past Bible studies, or each do your own thing.

What we provide: {FREE}

  • Bible reading plan
  • Living Like Jesus: Luke 9-16 study guide for you to journal and record your S.O.A.P. quiet times

Web{For KIDS}
We LOVE helping moms get their kids into God’s Word and because of that, we have partnered with The Better Mom and The Dig, by offering The Dig Volume II at a special discounted rate for ALL moms participating in our upcoming study! The Dig, provides a fun and easy way for YOU to get into the book of Luke 9-16 with your kids this session! (Please note: The first 4 weeks will be in Vol I of The Dig and the last 4 weeks will be in Vol II of The Dig)

 Now you and your children can learn the same chapters of Luke TOGETHER!

A typical Dig lesson consists of the following four components:

1.  The Map: The Map tells you and your child where you’ll be going in each lesson.  It is a short summary of the study ahead.

2.  The Dig: The Dig is the main passage you will be studying.  Following each passage will be several questions designed to help conversation and understanding.  They are meant to be a guide.  You can use them or tweak them to help you talk with your children.

3.  The Treasure: The Treasure is the big idea of each lesson.  In a short statement, it is what you want your child to remember from the passage you studied.

4. The Display: When an archaeologist finds a treasure, they will clean it up and put it on display for everyone to see.  This is the basic idea of the Display.  It is the application of the Treasure you have found!

Still not sure if you should join Good Morning Girls this spring? Here are a few quotes from women who participated in past GMG Bible studies!

“I think this study has brought a whole new level of mindfulness to my day. It has forced me to look at myself and evaluate my responsibility in strengthening relationships. It’s also helped me define goals for myself with the confidence that these are Biblical goals. It’s been a long time since I’ve studied the Bible with any consistency and I’m so grateful that I chose this one. Very positive!“- Ginny

“Thank you so much for this study. It’s made a difference in my life, which extends to my husband, children, grandchildren.”- Cheryl

“For the past 2 years, God has used GMG to draw me closer to Him than ever before. I’ve taken leaps of faith as I’ve learned He is always there waiting to catch and guide me. He’s granted me the courage to lead 3 GMG studies, and I love it. In doing so, I’ve become a prayer warrior, and I’m no longer fearful of being transparent. Praying for others and sharing my testimony are are two of the greatest ways in which I can share God’s love with others. God has given me the power and perseverance to overcome many trials, while resting in His peace for His perfect timing and plan – I’ve overcome depression and a 21 year battle with bulimia, and I’m full of joy and love life. I can’t achieve anything on my own. I need Him.”- Jen

“The GMG studies have been such a huge blessing to me and my daughters. My 17 and 16 year old daughters have done the last 3 studies with me and it has brought us closer. God has been able to draw us near to him while also drawing us closer as mother and daughters and them as sisters. We started out just doing the first one together, then for the second and third we invited friends to join us and it has just been a wonderful experience. God shows Himself through these studies.”- Betty

As you can see, being in God’s Word on a daily bases DOES make a difference in your life!

You can sign-up individually or in a group……either way, we’d love to have you join us this spring!
