If someone were to ask you who you think is the most successful modern day evangelist is, who would you say? For me, I’d say Billy Graham.
But today as I sat in church, I was challenged in my answer.
My pastor asked us to raise our hands if we became saved from attending a Billy Graham crusade. I go to a fairly large church, with a few hundred people sitting in the sanctuary with me each Sunday, but only a handful of hands raised in response to my pastor’s question.
Then he asked, how many of you were saved from someone coming to your door and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with you? Again, only a handful of hands were raised.
Next he asked how many people became saved just by opening up the bible and reading God’s Word for themselves. More hands were raised at this response.
Finally my pastor asked, how many of you became saved because of someone investing in your life? Maybe it was your mother, grandma, friend or co-worker? Guess what, whoever it was they all have something in common.
They had a relationship with you.
Relationship building is key to Kingdom building…….we must continue to reach out and invest our lives in one another!
The answer to my first question isn’t one individual……the answer is US!!! All of us, together, as a group……..God is using US as one large group to reach “to the ends of the earth.”
When my pastor asked us to raise our hands if we had become saved because of someone who had a relationship with us……..my large sanctuary suddenly became a sea of raised hands! It literally took my breath away!
And then I thought of Good Morning Girls and what God is doing through us.
You see, what we are doing, what YOU are doing here at Good Morning Girls is so so SOOOO important!
We are in the business of relationship building and getting women into God’s Word. I truly don’t know what could be more important!
This session alone we already have over 5,000 women committed to reading the book of Colossians with us this fall!!! That truly is something to celebrate!
Each session we have more women signing up than there are GMG leaders though….would you please prayerfully consider being a GMG Leader? Would you consider building a few more relationships? Investing in a few more lives? Ideally we like to keep the group sizes to about 5-10 women but because of the vast demand we have some groups who have had hundreds of women in one group! Though we are soo thankful for each of those women who want to participate and for the leaders who willingly include them, we also want to make sure each woman experiences a “personal touch” and fills apart of their group. We want personal relationships to form. We want women to really dig into God’s Word together, to form friendships, to form prayer partners and to have friends who they can really grow in the knowledge of our Lord with together.
That’s where YOU come in! We’d LOVE for YOU to join us as a GMG Leader!
Our heart here at Good Morning Girls is to reach women all over the world with the good news of Jesus Christ……one life at a time!
That’s why we have created a GMG Leaders Guide! We want to help and support our leaders as best as we can.
In this guide, we hope to address some of the most common questions you might have as a leader:
- Why I need to know the Good Morning Girls Statement of Faith…
- What exactly are my responsibilities, and what resources are available to me as a leader?
- How do I go about setting up a Good Morning Girls group?
- What important information should I communicate to my group as we get started?
- What are some tips for helping my GMG group succeed?
- How can I consistently engage my group members and encourage participation?
- Keeping a healthy perspective (don’t get discouraged!).
(Note: our GMG Leaders guide is available for immediate download for GMG blog subscribers and is located at the end of this post if you are reading this in an email or in a RSS feed.)
We also have a GMG Leaders support group on Facebook that is only open to our GMG Leaders.
If you are a GMG Leader, meaning you are leading a group of women, (doesn’t matter the size) then please add me as a friend on Facebook using this account and I will place you into our GMG Leaders group. This is a private group so you can only be added by me.
With that same passion of building relationships and spreading God’s Word, I’d also like to announce we will have our fall Colossians materials translated into 3 different languages again this session!!!
This fall we will have our documents translated into:
Croatian
German
AND Spanish!
Stay tuned for those downloadable resources! If you have any friends who speak those languages, be sure to let them know!
