Good Morning Girls!

We are just days away from the start of our Good Morning Girls Summer Session, {Anything} Online Bible Study with GMG, and we want to help you to begin well!  Here are just a few quick things you can do before Monday to get prepared for this exciting next session:

1.  Many of you have already done this, but if you haven’t yet, make sure to ENROLL in the study!  This helps us to know who is studying with us as we prepare to serve you well!  It takes just a few seconds… you can head on over and enroll here.

2. Purchase the book Anything, by Jennie Allen.  Lifeway is running an amazing special discount during our enrollment period, and we’ve also heard that Amazon and some local Christian bookstores have the book in stock.  *If you are unable to purchase the book at this time, the study is still very much do-able by following along with the Bible Reading Plan and blog posts.

3.  Now is a great time to print off the {FREE} materials provided to you for this study!  When you subscribe to our blog, you will receive an email in your inbox each time a new post is submitted here on the blog.  Scroll down to the very bottom of those emails, and you will find the links to the {Anything} Study Guide and Reading Plan.  The Study Guide – in journal format – is a wonderful, interactive way to record what God is teaching you throughout the study.  Not subscribed yet?  No problem!  You can do that here.

4. In the same email mentioned in #2, we have some fabulous Children’s Resources this session!!  Oh, we couldn’t be more thrilled about what the Children’s Resources Team has put together with your children in mind!  If you are a GMG subscriber, these resources are listed at the bottom of your email as well.  We suggest that you go ahead and print and share a preview of the study with your children, letting them know what exciting stuff will be waiting for them on Monday!  Look for: 1. Anything for Kids, 2. Dear God for Boys, 3. Dear God for Girls, 4. Dear God for Women . You can read more about our Children’s Resources here.

5.  Still looking to join a Good Morning Girls group this session?  Martha heads up our Enrollment Team, and would be THRILLED to connect you with a group that best fits you! Simply email Martha at martha.gmgenrollment@ymail.com  with your request to join a group (please specify if you are interested in an email or facebook group).  Or you can visit the GMG Forum to check out several open groups that are forming there!

6. It’s not too late to consider inviting a friend to join us this session!  Maybe, just maybe, God has already laid someone on your heart, and you’ve been meaning to share this study info with them.  Don’t wait another day (you’ll never know their answer unless you ask, right?!)!  This info section of the blog summarizes what Good Morning Girls is all about, plus find out what to expect in our upcoming study here… then share away!  It’s never too late to get into God’s Word!

7.  Finally, and most importantly, will you join us in PRAYER as we humbly come before God, asking Him to protect, bless, strengthen and empower us as we seek to know and love Him more throughout this study?  We are asking for God to prepare and soften hearts to receive truth from His Word, so all who participate might walk away from this study changed to be more like Him.

Oh friend, we cherish our time spent together with you in God’s Word!  Thank YOU for being a special blessing to the Good Morning Girls community!  Our {Anything} Online Bible Study with GMG begins MONDAY, JUNE 3!  Get excited!!!

At His feet,

Our Need For Community

The popularity of Facebook shows our desperate desire for community. As women we are created with the longing to connect, to connect with our Lord and to connect with those around us. We are made for relationships.

The problem occurs with the busyness of our everyday lives. The demands of raising our precious children, taking care of our homes, and being a helpmate to our husbands. As we strive to serve and meet the needs of others, we can find ourselves depleted and lonely. If we’re not careful, we begin to neglect our time with other women and especially our time with God…..the very relationship we so desperately need as moms.

Join me today at The Better Mom where I’m talk about making time with God and our girlfriends a priority! We are not alone!!!

I’d love to have you join me in the discussion!

Love God Greatly!

Download the NEW GMG Leader’s Guide…TODAY

I am sooo excited to announce, for the first time ever, we are providing a special GMG Leader’s Guide!!! Woohoo!

I’d especially like to thank Whitney and Shonda Knowlton for putting this Leader’s Guide together for us! What a valuable resource this will be for ALL our GMG leaders! Thank you to each of you for the time and effort you put into this project!!! We are so very thankful to each of you!

In this guide, we hope to address some of the most common questions you might have as a leader:

  1. Why I need to know the Good Morning Girls Statement of Faith…
  2. What exactly are my responsibilities, and what resources are available to me as a leader?
  3. How do I go about setting up a Good Morning Girls group?
  4. What important information should I communicate to my group as we get started?
  5. What are some tips for helping my GMG group succeed?
  6. How can I consistently engage my group members and encourage participation?
  7. Keeping a healthy perspective (don’t get discouraged!).

Each session we have more women signing up than there are GMG leaders….would you please prayerfully consider being a GMG Leader? Ideally we like to keep the group sizes to about 5-10 women but because of the vast demand we have some groups that have had hundreds of women in one group! Though we are soo thankful for each of those women who want to participate and for the leaders who willingly includes them, we also want to make sure each woman experiences a “personal touch” and fills apart of their group.

We’d LOVE for YOU to join us as a GMG Leader!

Our heart here at Good Morning Girls is to reach women all over the world with the good news of Jesus Christ……one life at a time!

With that passion in mind, I’d also like to announce today that we will have our summer book club selection translated into 3 different languages!!!

This summer we will have WomenLivingWell’s ebook: Proverbs 31: One Virtue At A Time translated into:
Croatian
German
AND Spanish!

Stay tuned for those downloadable ebooks! If you have any friends who speak those languages, be sure to let them know!

What is Good Morning Girls? (GMG)
If you have never heard of Good Morning Girls before here’s what we are… “Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, Twitter, Skype or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times. For 3+ years, I have been a part of a group of girls who email each other each daily after we have our quiet time. We say “Good Morning” and then share what we read in our quiet time. Some of us have our quiet time first thing in the morning, while others squeeze it in during children’s naps or at bedtime. The time of day doesn’t matter…..our focus is just being in God’s Word daily!

Here is a video about Good Morning Girls and a few testimonials from my own personal GMG friends!

For those of you viewing this in your email, click here.

Who can join?
Young, old, single, married – any woman who wants to pursue walking with Jesus. (This is our belief statement- scroll to bottom of page).

Why?
Our main goal is to be accountable to each other and to help each other maintain the discipline of reading God’s word daily.

What’s the commitment?
Joining a Good Morning Girls group requires commitment. Now that Angela and I have had time to watch these groups form and grow, we are aware that some start strong but then fizzle out. As a result the entire group can get discouraged. So it is very important that if you join a group you remain committed to the end. Even if you can only check in once or twice a week – please do not quit completely. The other girls WANT to hear from you!

  • This is a 3 month commitment.
  • The summer session runs from May 14th – August 17th.

What To Study?
The Summer Book Club is optional. We will be providing SOAP Bible readings, videos and challenges to go along with Courtney’s Proverbs 31 ebook BUT this is optional. To receive Courtney’s FREE Proverbs 31 ebook make sure to subscribe to her blog at WomenLivingWell.Org

You can choose as a group to read through a certain book of the Bible together, to join a Bible study together such as a Beth Moore study or each do your own thing.

{Guest Post} “Love Thy Neighbor”

When I think of the greatness of this great plan I fall on my knees before God the Father (from whom all fatherhood, earthly or heavenly, derives its name?, and I pray that out of the glorious richness of his resources he will enable you to know the strength of the spirit’s inner re-enforcement- that Christ may actually live in your hearts by your faith. And I pray that you, firmly fixed in love yourselves, may be able to grasp (with all Christians) how wide and deep and long and high is the love of Christ- and to know for yourselves that love so far beyond our comprehension. May you be filled though all your being with God himself!

Now to him who by his power within us is able to do far more than we ever dare to ask or imagine- to him be glory in the Church through Jesus Christ forever and ever, amen!

Ephesians 3:14-21 {Phillips}

The second half of Ephesians 3 is packed full of valuable, life-giving truths, but today I’m going to put a deeper twist on Paul’s words and share a message of radical love.

Are you ready to get radical? I can’t help but wonder what the world could be if we were people who truly grasped exactly how wide, deep, long and high is God’s love for us. If we were so full of God’s love, a love far beyond our comprehension, that our entire being is literally filled through with God Himself.

I wonder if, when Paul prayed that we will know a glorious inner strenth {MSG}, he might have known that sometimes loving someone would take an inner strength that can only come from the Spirit and knowing the depth of God’s love for ourselves.

Because the truth is, there are people that do things that make it impossible for us to muster love for them. That’s a hard truth, but it is truth. We’re human.

I wonder though, if we allow ourselves the faith it might take to let the Spirit fill us to excess with God’s incomprehensible love…could we then offer that same radical love, a love far beyond anyone’s comprehension, to those seemingly undeserving of it?

Undeserving of course is a matter of degree. There are “smaller situations”…gossip, a misspoken word, a misunderstanding, a wrong look…you know what I’m speaking of. But today I’d like us take stock in how we feel about some of life’s “harder situations.” We could be right in the middle of the situation, we might be on the periphery looking in, or we may simply have an opinion while reading about it in our local paper.

Affairs
Murder
Addictions
Theft
Rape
A drunk driver killing a family

What if a person did something so horrific that everyone turned their backs on them and no one was left loving them?

Again, I have to wonder what the world could be if we, as a body of believers, decided to love these people…not their acts of wrongdoing. Imagine if we could put down our own stones, drop all condemnation, radically love, and say, “Sin no more.” {John 8:3-11}

I wonder if we pointed people towards Christ with a showing of radical love, rather than judgement, how much further that message could reach?

We have been called to love each other as Jesus loves. As the Sidewalk Prophets song says:

I am the thorn in Your crown, but You love me anyway.
I am the sweat from Your brow, but You love me anyway.
I am the nail in Your wrist, but You love me anyway.
I am Judas’ kiss, but You love me anyway.

If we can’t love each other in the hard stuff, through the hard stuff…how are we going to love each other through smaller misunderstandings?

Has someone hurt you beyond repair? Has someone done something that’s caused you to turn your back on them?

I believe when we have full faith {complete confidence and trust} in God’s love for us… His perfect love, His great love, His miraculous love, His mysterious love…when we are filled through all our being with God Himself, we can love others under any circumstance because His radical love is coursing through us.

Radical love…it’s a tough thing! But as Paul said, “With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine.” {NCV}

Jesus loves radically. Do we?
