I am so excited to announce today that the very talented and inspiring Tricia Goyer will be joining our contributing team this session! Tricia will be writing on Tuesdays and will be sharing with us practical ways we as moms can lead our families like Jesus! Tricia recently wrote a book with authors Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges entitled: Lead Your Family Like Jesus: Powerful Parenting Principles from the Creator of Families.
Between her recent book and our upcoming study…..well it looks like a perfect fit to me! I can’t wait to begin our new session with Tricia and learn more about leading my family like Jesus! Welcome to GMG, Tricia!!!
Tricia Goyer is a busy mom of four (with two more in the adoption process), grandmother of one, and wife to John. Somewhere around the hustle and bustle of family life, she manages to find the time to write fictional tales delighting and entertaining readers and non-fiction titles offering encouragement and hope. A bestselling author, Tricia has published thirty-six books to date and has written more than 500 articles. She is a two time Carol Award winner, as well as a Christy and ECPA Award Nominee. Wanting to join a GMG group?
I also wanted to let you know I have heard from a few of you that our new forum isn’t as easy to use as our previous one. Let me first say that I am so sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you and for those of you who are having trouble with it, we have come up with an alternative way to join a group. Below you will see the different GMG group categories. If you would like to join one of our groups and can’t seem to get on our forum, please email Martha at martha.gmgenrollment@ymail.com and let her know what type of group (from the list provided below) you are interested in joining. Martha will then place you in a group and get you connected with the group leader. We have tons of new GMG leaders trained this session who are eager and excited to help get women into God’s Word! We would love for you to join us this session and get connected with some new friends who will help you dig into God’s Word…….together!
If you would like to study God’s Word together with a small group of new friends, please contact Martha today!

When I looked through your list of forums this morning, I was disappointed to see working moms in the same group as women who do not have children in their home. I realize that women/moms who stay at home are very busy. In a sense, they are still working moms. I have the utmost respect for everything they do! But those of us who are mothers working outside the home, with children in our homes, do not belong in a forum or small group of women whose children are grown and living on their own or who do not have children at all. I may not home school my children, but when I get home from work, I help with homework. I arrange my schedule to help with field trips and school activities. I fit in dinner between gymnastics, basketball, golf, and church choir and praise team on Wednesdays. With all these busy activities, I also try to be a wife who is there for my husband at the end of the day. If it wasn’t for him, the laundry would never be caught up! There is no way that my daily life, activities, or bible study habits are remotely similar to women without children in their home. I would love to hear from the women whose children may be grown if they were also working moms, and could offer me mentor-ship and advice on how they handled their busy lives. I love my God, my husband, my children, and even find joy and happiness in our crazy busy schedules. But I do not belong in a forum of women without children in their home. Thank you for your time.
Sisters in Christ,
Shannon Smith
Oh Shannon, please accept my apology for the hurt that I caused you this morning. Honestly, from one busy mom to another, I sat down last night to write this post and simply looked at how we had organized our forum and typed up the groups in that same fashion. What I should have done was simply to list the different types of groups that we have. We have leaders for EACH of those categories.
Again, I’m so sorry for the hurt this has caused and will make the change right now.
Much love,
Angela
I am sort of in a confused group, my husband has Alzheimer’s and after much prayerful thought have had to put him into a nursing home. It has been a blessing to have him someplace safe and where he can get the daily care he needs. I am not really a widow but not a wife either, I just do the best I can with the Lord’s help and strength. I couldn’t do it without His guidance and loving arms around me. You ladies don’t know what a blessing you are to me!
