This is my weakness. In college needing to have control actually nearly brought a heart attack on at age 19. Fifteen years later, as a mother, I especially struggle daily with this. Right now I’m about to start a new career as a nurse and my husband is in the middle of a promotion. Neither of us has any control over our schedule. I.Need.This.!

While I was participating in the GMG Colossians study for the first time, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Colossians provided me with so much strength and encouragement before I even knew I needed it. Surgery was Nov. 9 and now I am at home recovering from my new reality. Through this process God has made himself present and real to me in ways that are hard to explain in a short comment. My prayer through this whole process has been that I never lose this perspective, that I never forget that God is ever-present. He and he alone has carried me through this painful journey, but I want to always remember that He can carry me through my every day, my raising of 4 children, my daily challenges, not just the big ones. God is my breathe, my strength, my song – always!

Well-I just listened to the first video from the series posted and did I get awaken by How Much I AM a Control Freek! Especially when it comes to God, Did I say that???? Yes-I did…I really could value from this encouragement to put God back in the Drivers Seat and not be a back seat driver, but relax and ENJOY the Ride!

While I have not yet been blessed with children, I struggle often with being a control freak. You see I’m in the military! I think this book would offer some insight in how to better manage my Army “kids” and still be able to find God daily, sometimes this is truly a struggle.

I’ve let go of so much this year, that it has been my faith in God that is all I cling to now. I let go of a job that was killing me, let go of possessions… and soon unfortunately will be forced to let go of my husband because he has let go of God. I can’t “co-sign” his behavior anymore.

Would leov to read this book. It’s a hard balnce between trying to influence those tasks and people in our stewardships without being controlling.

Wow when she was talking it was like she was describing me…i always fall into bed exhuasted cuz i want to control everything until my life fits into this lil box i have created. Well with my imperfections it never works out quite that way…when will i let God be in control. Sounds like an awesome book and dvd set.

How timely! I would LOVE to apply this in my life!
Oh wow, the bullet points from the book hit home to me. I have so much control issue — especially my emotions. I lash out a lot toward my husband and son and that was pretty bad. But yet I can’t control that feelings errupted out .. this book will help me to take my emotions to God and let Him yank it out of my system. Thanks for the chance.

I just saw this book at the bookstore- very intriguing!
I hadn’t considered myself a control freak, but I do like things a certain way, I’m finding out I don’t handle change as well as I used to, and I’d much rather do things myself then ask for help…hhmmm
I haven’t read the book, but I am living it right now. Everything seems to be stripping away in my life and I am hanging on by a thread. Thankfully, the tread is a corner of the garment of Jesus.

As a woman transitioning from a career to the homefront full time, I have found that I need to find a good balance of running the show and letting it go. I am grateful daily for the moments I have with my family that I used to miss while at work, and I truly enjoy caring for others all day, but I do need to work on not getting cranky when my husband comes home from work early which cuts my quiet afternoon (to cook, clean or read or do whatever else needs doing)short.
