{Week 7}… Working for the Lord ~ Colossians 3:15-25

Week 7 of  Colossians is here!!!  Have you noticed throughout our study how one verse builds on another, and then another?!  I am so thankful that God’s Word is complete and without error, and that every word is inspired by Him.  What a powerful tool God has given us, applicable to all of life!

This week’s verses: Colossians 3:15-25

  1. I love how you are so real, Whitney, with laundry in the background. I’m focusing this week on the daily task of cleaning the kitchen to rejoice that I have food to make for my family as well as the ability to use a dishwasher. I spend hours in the kitchen cooking, cleaning and doing it all over again and again in one day!

  2. I just want to let you know how much this study is blessing my life. Just the act of writing each word of each verse fills me with joy. This morning as I was writing and praying and seeking for the message God wants me to receive from him in these verses I began to feel the strongest desire to begin copying every verse in the Bible. I tried to tell myself that maybe I could just type each verse on the computer but my heart said NO. I need to write each word just at the original scribes did. I plan to get two notebooks (to start with) and just start writing and letting God speak to me through each and every word of His glorious book. I have absolutely no idea how long it will take but I have an excitement that I have not felt in years at the thought of taking on this task. Please pray that in doing this that I may not only develop a deeper understanding of my Lord but see a way to share this with others. I don’t want to just selfishly keep Christ all to myself. I would like for this personal mission to help someone else as well. Again thank you for the study and sharing it will all of us.

  5. This video has really encouraged me this morning. I have been thinking about motherhood a lot and how much I love it- but also how much it can be a sacrifice to give up what we think is our calling and the freedom we used to have in order to serve our children. Sometimes it’s easy to become afraid that our “calling” will somehow vanish into thin air if we wait for too long before we act on it, so we run after things other than the important ones God called us to for THIS SEASON of our lives. I love how you talked about praying over your kids while you fold their laundry. I’ve heard this before and think this is a beautiful application to your ministry to your family. You’ve reminded that God honors our ministry to our families as equally as He does any other calling HE’s placed on our lives. And that He hasn’t forgotten about the other parts to us besides motherhood…and that somehow it will all come together in the end, if we simply honor Him with joy and a spirit of gratitude. Thanks for this video!!

  6. Thanks for this encouragement! I’m at the stage of parenting where I’m running around ALL the time with school, sports, a gazillion extra curricular activities, forgotten lunch money, etc! Sometimes I miss the days when they were younger and we were at home more. But this week, I’m going to focus on running around with joy and gratitude as unto the Lord and thank Him for this busy busy season of life!

  7. Hi Whitney! I am loving your videos. They speak to me. Love the practical applications you give! Thank you!
