{Week 4} Rooted In Christ~Colossians 2:6-15

Welcome back to week 4 of our 8 week study on the book of Colossians! We are almost half-way through already! I’m so glad you’re joining us!

This week we will be reading: Colossians 2:6-15

Paul is reminding us that when we receive Christ as Lord of our life, we are just beginning our wonderful life with Jesus. Paul encourages and challenges us to grow in Christ, to be “rooted” in Him. What you are “rooted” in determines how you will grow. Just as plants draw their nourishment from the soil through their roots, we draw our strength from our relationship with Jesus.

Think about the verses as we read over them this week….you are given fullness in Christ, God has made you alive with Christ, your sins are forgiven, and what was once against you has now been nailed to the cross because of Jesus! Realize those truths! Claim those truths for your life and live a life of overflowing thankfulness to our Lord for what He has done on our behalf!

Today I invite you to open your Bibles with me as we go through Colossians 2:6-15.

  2. Hi, I’m new to the group. Read about it through posts shared in another online study. I have to say this is wonderful. What a great book, Colossians, to study. I love how wonderfully you’ve divided each verse. SOAP, something I’ve started doing on my own and didn’t realize there was acronym for it. There is so much contained in so few words. Truly inspiring and testimonial on how plain and precious is the Word of God.
Thanks for all your work and dedication to putting this wonderful site and study together.

  3. Thanks for your sweet words of encouragement today, Courtney! :)

Welcome, Jennifer! So glad you are joining us! :)

  4. Angela- This is one of the best videos you have shared. You went straight to the point! I loved what you said about Jesus being the only one to fill that hole in our lives. It reminds me of the song by Plumb- God Shaped Hole. I am so thankful for this study as it draws me closer to God more and more each day. Hugs, Shonda
