{Week 11} WIWW Link-Up Party…..To the Unmarried and women without children…

To the unmarried and women without children……my sweet sisters I speak to you today. I know reading through Proverbs 31 can be hard at times. At first glance it seems to only speak to women who are married and who have children…..but please let me invite you to dig a little deeper and look a little longer…..Proverbs 31 is for ALL women. Regardless if you’re married, unmarried, have children or don’t have children…..God’s Word is for everyone!

This week we are covering verses 28 & 29:

Proverbs 31:28
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her.

Proverbs 31:29
Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.

This past year I have went to more funerals than ever in my life. In November my dear grandmother passed away and then just last week one of my favorite uncles went to be with the Lord unexpectedly while I was away on vacation, during that same trip one of my dear friend’s mother-n-law also went home to be with Jesus.

Even in my church family this past year, I could share stories of friends’ loved ones going home to be with Jesus.

The importance of how you live your life has been heavy on my mind…..especially this past week.

Proverbs 31 is more than just how to be a good wife or mother……it’s about how to live your life well.
It’s about the importance of servant hood.
It’s about the importance of being intentional with the days, years, months and breathes we are given.
It’s about staying focused on one person…….Jesus.

When I read verses 28 and 29, I see more than just a mother and wife. I see a woman who lived her life fully for God’s glory!

A woman who lived to bring honor and glory to her King!

Married or not married…….bring glory to the King in how you live your life right where you’re at.

With or without children……bring glory to the King in the example you set for the younger generations.

Bloom where you are planted.

TOGETHER we can reach more women for Jesus!

Do you not realize how important you are? We need you!

So many women need good role models to follow…..women who have went through hard times and have a beautiful testimony of how God was with them every step of the way. We need to hear stories of God’s faithfulness. We need to hear that a woman is complete not because of her marriage status or if she has children……but a woman is complete because of who she is in Christ!!!

My sweet friends, please remember we ALL need beautiful examples to follow! Be that example for someone else!

The accolades the Proverbs 31 woman receives are for all women…..regardless if she is married or not. Regardless if she has children or not.

She is praised not because she is a wife and mother, she is praised because of how she lived her life.

A life that was totally focused on serving her Lord as she served others.

When my time here on earth is finally over I pray that those who knew me will remember me as a woman who loved her Lord with all her heart and with every breath her good Lord gave her. I pray that I “run my race well” and that I too, will hear the ultimate accolade from the King of Kings…..“Well done good and faithful SERVANT!”

Love God Greatly!

  1. I have a question about fitting in… I’m a 33 year old married women with no children. My husband works nights Monday-Friday (doesn’t get home until 10 pm). I have a great group of church friends that do stuff with me. They are not my age, but that doesn’t matter to me. Those my age either have little ones to tend to or are single and in the dating realm. Which group do I belong to? Even on weekends when hubby is home we find ourselves eating out with family or alone because we don’t fit with other groups.

  5. Awesome words of wisdom, Angela! :) So many times we overlook the fact that we can glean so much from words that “appear” to be for someone else!

  6. May we all be Godly examples to our sisters and daughters in Christ! Thanks for the great post and for hosting the linkup, & God bless!

  7. Hi Kim!

Ohhh sweet Kim, I don’t think it’s a matter to which group “should” you fit into as much as just being with friends that you enjoy, how encourage you, support you, are there for you…..whether you are the same as or not doesn’t matter. :) Just shine your light brightly for Jesus where ever you are, with the friends you have been given…..just live your life fully right where you are!!! Step out in faith and put God’s Word into action……serve those He has placed in your life….be the hands of Jesus right where you’re at! :)

Lord Jesus please bless my sweet soul sista may you give her strength to mother her beautiful girls and to be a Proverbs 31 wife and mom herself in Jesus Holy Name Amen

  12. I remember when I was single and I wondered how I was supposed to apply verses that seemed only for married women to my life. I was a teacher at a Christian school and I knew that my witness was to glorify God in that Kindergarten classroom. I had many children and parents under my wings! This was great training for me now that I am a mom and wife, but at that time I didn’t know if I was ever going to be married. I knew that I needed to glorify God as his child.
