{Week 6} Ministry of Motherhood Book Club: Ch 7 & 8

Let’s begin week 6 in our Ministry of Motherhood book club with Sally Clarkson! This week we will finish reading about the Gift of Inspiration.

I am so excited for you to read chapters 7 & 8 this week because of all the wisdom Sally shares. This week Sally challenges us to point out the evidence of God’s glory to our children to help them develop a better understanding of who God is and how mighty He is….how He is all around us IF we take the time to open our eyes and truly look for Him!

Putting what we’re reading into practice: This week look for opportunities to point out the evidence of God’s power and glory to your children. Examples might include: Rainbows, sunsets…….anything that was made by God’s hands.

“At other times he pointed to natural reality- storms, floods, trees and their fruit, grapes and vines, flowers, birds, wind and waves- as evidence of the Father’s work and his presence.” - Sally Clarkson, pg 83

My favorite quote from today’s video:

“Inspiration is that area of the heart that says, I’m going to accomplish something great.”- Sally Clarkson

  1. I really enjoyed these chapters. My boys have very strong personalities and things that they are good at and things that drive me up the wall. I’m trying to look at each of those things in a different light. Trying to see how things like stubbornness and high energy can be used to glorify God. I’ve also been taking a look at myself and trying to see what I have that God has given me to use in the furtherance of His kingdom.

  2. Latoya, I also have strong willed boys! I know what you mean. I noticed that they will actually calm down and get quiet when I point out things in nature to them. We have some birds that hang out near my youngest two boys bedroom window. Every day we quietly watch them. It is only for a minute or two but I hope that this little moment each day will help to inspire them.

  3. Priscilla Romero says:

I know one of my boys is very prone to painting, drawing and creating stories. I´ll like to guide him to explore more into it, and of course,to show God to others thru it. But I really don´t know where to start. It´s defficult to get classes or teachers when we don´t have the income to hire anyone or get free clases in a 3rd world country. But I keep trying and praying that God will help me to guide him. Very inspirational, both the book and today´s video! Thank you Angela, Courtney and Sally for your inspiration! Blessings!

  4. LaToya- I’ve been trying to do the same thing LaToya with my girls. :) Strong personalities can be wonderful and used powerfully for our Lord. We as moms, just need wisdom in knowing how to mold and shape them accordingly. :) I know God has great plans for your boys! :)

Alicia- I’m sure they treasure that quiet time with you! :)

Priscilla- Praying for wisdom for you sweet friend as you look for opportunities to encourage your child in this area. :) What about even finding educational YouTube videos that teach certain painting or drawing techniques? Just a thought. :)

Thank you all for sharing today! I love to hear what is on your hearts and how you are being touched by this book club. :)

    Love God Greatly!
