Only 7 More Days Until GMG Starts!!!

Courtney and I are so excited to unveil our Ministry of Motherhood S.O.A.P. & Book Club schedule! During the upcoming 12 week study we are going to be using the S.O.A.P. Method to help us dig deeper into scripture as we read Ministry of Motherhood together. What is the S.O.A.P. method? So glad you asked!

The S.O.A.P. Method stands for:

1.  S- Write out the scripture passage for the day.

2. O- Write down 1 or 2 observations from the passage.

3. A- Write down 1-2 applications from the passage.

4. P- Pray over what you learned from today’s passage.

By the end of the 12 weeks, you will have written out and meditated on numerous verses all geared toward strengthening and growing us as mothers. Many days you will only see one verse listed to read….we do that for a reason! We want you to mediate, ponder, apply and eventually store these verses in our memory and hearts. Simply reading the verse and closing your bible for the day won’t have the same effect as if you read the verse, write it on a note card and re-read it through-out the day meditating and praying over the verse and asking God to help you apply it to your life. We want you to interact with God’s Word on a deeper level….using the S.O.A.P. method helps you go deeper.

As you go through this study, if you come across a verse or passage that you don’t understand, we recommend Crosswalk’s Bible Study Tools found here:http://www.biblestudytools.com/ On this page in the lower right hand corner, you can find links to Bible dictionaries, commentaries, concordances, and other Bible translations, etc.

We also recommend Matthew Henry’s Commentary’s found here: http://www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/matthew-henry-complete/

Our Web Schedule:

On Monday’s, you’ll see Sally Clarkson’s exclusive videos pertaining to that week’s reading in Ministry of Motherhood. Wisdom just pours out of Sally so you won’t want to miss what she has to say each Monday. The only thing better would be to have Sally Clarkson sit right next to you and mentor you personally!

On Wednesday’s, we invite you to link up or comment in the comment section and share what you are learning during your quiet times- this is your day to interact! As a change this session, we will also have several bloggers guest posting on what they learned while reading Ministry of Motherhood!

On Friday’s, Courtney and I will close with a discussion on what we learned through that week’s reading as well as share our answers to some of the discussion questions.

Our 12 week schedule looks like this:

Reading over the Ministry of Motherhood schedule you’ll see each day, Monday-Friday, you have one or a few verses to read from the bible and mediate on. Besides the daily scripture reading you’ll also have two chapters to read each week. Every other week there will be discussion questions for you to answer and share with your group. If you don’t have a group, please feel free to share online by commenting on our blog posts! We always love to hear from you!  I know two chapters might sound like a lot to read, but after looking through the book you’ll see that each chapter is only a few pages and I guarantee you, you’ll have a hard time stopping at just two!!! :)

  8. RaShell S. says:

    I follow GMG via Facebook.

  9. Just to be clear – On May 16 we read Psalm 127:1 and on May 23 we start the Introduction to the book.

  10. I think I’d like to participate in the book club but I have a question on how it all works. I see that week one shows “meet group”. Is this a special group that we’re placed in or that we make up on our own from the message board or is this our own GMG group that we’re already in?

What if we have/had a GMG but it’s sort of fizzled out and no one in the group (besides me) has the book?

  11. Where do we purchase the book?

  12. Hi Krista- You got it girl! We wanted to give you all a week just to start emailing or Facebooking each other in order to get to know each other before we started reading the book together. :) You read the schedule perfectly! :)

Hi Rachel- We don’t place you in groups but rather allow you to create your own, whether it’s friends that you go to church with, old college roommates or new friends that you find on our GMG message board. We think you’re much better at picking who you’d like to be in a group with than we are! :) Rachel let me encourage you to look at our message board and see if there are any groups that are forming that you’d like to be apart of.:)

Hi S. Lee- You can purchase the book from either Amazon or Sally Clarkson’s website: http://www.wholeheart.org/the-ministry-of-motherhood/

Thanks for the GREAT questions today!!!! Can’t wait to get started with each of you!

    Love God Greatly!

  13. Jennifer says:

I have downloaded the book onto my kindle and will be reading and doing the club, but do not have anyone to join me in accountability. We are missionaries in Moldova and would love to join up with someone if there is a floater or two out there!
    Jennifer

  14. Hi Jennifer,

You won’t believe this but I have actually been to Moldova!!! Many, many years ago….but I loved it there! :) I have always wanted to go back but just haven’t been able to yet. One day I pray! :) As far as groups go, have you posted on our message board yet? I know that we have a few international GMG groups going. Post on our message board in the “If you haven’t found a….” section. If you don’t hear back from someone, let me know! :) Thank you for all your hard work in Moldova! :)

    Love God Greatly!
    -Angela

  15. Jennifer says:

Angela, That is crazy. Moldova is definitely making some ground. Most of the time people ask us “Where in the world is Moldova?”
I actually have found one more person to join in with me! But, we are definitely open to anyone else who may need a group. I will post on the board. If you come back to Moldova, I would love to meet up with you!
    Jennifer

  16. I am looking forward to joining in on this study! It is just what I needed.

  17. Lisa V. says:

Just got my book in the mail moments ago. I suddenly got so excited! Can’t WAIT to dig in.

  18. Melanie says:

Hi! I’d really like to join a group, is there a link I need to find so I can join? This book sounds wonderful and I’d love the accountability! If anyone can tell me what to do in order to join that would be great!!

  19. Hi. I requested to join a group on Facebook. Is there anything else I shouldbe doing? I’m a little overwhelmed and lost on how to navigate. But, I cannot wait to become part of this!

  20. In Lilongwe, Malawi, I joined a study group last year for a couple of months and one of my sisters in Christ recommended that I check out this webpage since I have started to work again and will be occupied during this time. I feel nervous but also sad as I felt such a connection to God during my studies with the experiences of other women, face to face, sharing God’s word. I look forward to being a part of this.

Anything is achievable and possible through Jesus.
