Check Out This Wall Art & WIWW Link-Up

I am so excited to introduce to you Jolanthe!!!   She has the first Good Morning Girls Group on Blog Frog and 85 ladies joining her for this book club!!!

Jolanthe is a mom of 4 kiddos {currently 10, 8, 6 and 4} ~ and wife to a great man. She homeschools her children and life is never dull {or lacking in excitement}. She blogs at No Ordinary Moments and at Homeschool Creations she shares what they are doing in their homeschool time. Contrary to popular belief, she does NOT have it all together and is thankful that she has a husband who is full of grace and above all a God who is lavish in His grace toward her.

After reading Seasons of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson, she wanted to read more of Clarkson’s books and saw the Ministry of Motherhood book club starting. In an effort to hold herself accountable for reading {and completing} a non-fiction book, she decided to host an online book club via her Blog Frog community and has a wonderful group of 85 girls {and growing} reading along with her right now!

The area of grace is one that I most struggle with. Forget hourly, it seems that I struggle every moment of each day in exhibiting grace toward my children. I KNOW that it is one of the key places in our heart and our family that needs to be addressed.

Last week my husband and I were talking about painting our living room and adding a verse to the wall that runs along the balcony area of our children’s rooms. One that will serve to remind us to continually extend grace to our children.

After reading much of the introduction of Ministry of Motherhood to my husband last week, we came up with another idea that will not only remind us to be full of grace in our family, but also help bring into focus the five areas that are discussed in Ministry of Motherhood.

Want to see?

From the first two chapters of our reading this week, this has been the section that is resonating most in my heart:

“Perfection is not a standard He requires of me as a mother, for His grace extends to me as well as to my children. My heartfelt trust in Him will be the fuel that energizes my days as I see him draw my children through this gift that will serve them their whole lives.”

p. 29, Ministry of Motherhood

I am FAR from perfect, but am encouraged beyond measure that God’s grace has covered and will cover the multitude of my inadequacies as a mother. I pray that above all else my children will see me learning to receive the grace that has been freely given to me and that I will model for them what it means to also extend grace to others ~ starting within my own household.

  1. Wow! That is a beautiful idea, to look up and see those words every day must be such a motivation. Thank you for sharing such a lovely and encouraging post. I also struggle with this area, its nice to know I’m not alone.

    God’s blessings to you all!

  2. I am in Jolanthe’s blog frog group and she is a great leader! I loved her idea and hope to incoprporate something similar in my home!

  3. LOVE the art! Beautifully done, both in decorating and in spirit for your home.

  4. Did you just use stencil to do that? Would you be offended if I did it as well? *blush* I have a nice area like that over my front window. We just painted our living room and it would be a lovely place to put such a reminder for us. :)

  5. If I may,

I just wanted to share this video. It goes perfect with the scripture. It’s a Tribute To Billy Grahms family. It’s a beautiful Song Called Give me Jesus by Fernando Ortega.

  6. I just found your site today, thanks to “The Alabaster Jar”! And since I don’t believe in coincidences, I know in my heart that God led me to read Tracy’s post as well as click on the “Women in the Word Wednesdays” link. I needed this…a lot. Just last night I was praying for forgiveness..forgiveness for not being the mother I think I should be…for falling short, again. I love your painted words, Jolanthe. I think I should begin to incorporate more of God’s words in my own home. I missed Sally Clarkson’s NC conference due to an illness, but the book sounds like it will be a perfect addition to my personal library. Again, thank you! I look forward to spending more time on this site and to linking up on Wednesdays.
    Blessings to you,
    Carrie
