As I am reading through James, I am constantly reminded that trials will happen and that God loves me through it all. I think what has stuck out the most this week is that God is not our temptor as we encounter various situations in our lives. Evil is present in our lives because of our free will and because we allow it to come in. As long as we keep our focus on God, he will be there with open arms waiting for us as we encounter the trials and tough situations in our lives. I’ve enjoyed having this accountability through GMG and the small group that I have become a part of.
I have been amazed at the wisdom in James and how much each verse has to offer. I have been touched by “consider it pure joy” when we go through trials. We must remember we are loved by an amazing God who wants to glorify His love through us. We need to show our Christian love by loving even in times of trials to be a testament to His faithfulness. Through GMG I have gotten my best girlfriend and I to share things in a more intimate way and our friendship has grown into something deeper after just the 2 weeks.
Oh my, it’s as if James was speaking directly to me, and I suppose he is. I am so thankful to be going thru this book line by line. I have taken so much from the first 14 verses, and they are changing my heart of stone to one of flesh. I am thankful that God chooses to use me to glorify himself. Thanks so much for encouraging us to get into James. Looking forward to learning and sharing more. xoxo
I am counting it all and charging it to JOY that God has chosen me to learn His way be whatever way He says I shoud learn it. I am not always comfortable with what He chooses but Tuesday’s reading was a wakeup call for me. I referenced Isaiah 54:16-17 in my journaling and realized the SPOILER could be anything…including my sinful will. I am truly enjoying my time with Him right now.
