GMG Winter Session Begins…TODAY!

(Note: if you are viewing this through your email, make sure to go to our blog today because this post includes a video.)

Welcome Good Morning Girls!!! Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for!!!! Our winter session of GMG starts TODAY!!! What does that mean??? It means that today is the day you all start emailing, texting, facebooking or tweeting about your quiet times!

Courtney and I are already amazed at what God has done just with the number of women who have signed up for this winter session. As of Sunday we have a total of 129 GMG groups with 900+ women from not only our country, but all over the world participating!!! Wowzers!!! So excited to see how God is going to work through our lives in these next 12 weeks!

GMG Information Recap:

What is Good Morning Girls? “Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, facebook, or twitter to keep each other accountable for their quiet times. As a group, you decide which form of communication is best for everyone.

How Does Good Morning Girls Work? Each morning, (Monday-Friday) the first person who has her quiet time starts the group off. She will email, facebook, or twitter her group and share what she read and learned during her quiet time that morning. Then each member of her group will reply to the whole group after they have their quiet time. If you are using email then you will choose REPLY ALL when sending your email. If you are using a facebook group, then you will COMMENT on that day’s post. If you are using twitter, you will use REPLY or #GoodMorningGirls.

Do we check-in on the GMG blog or just with our personal GMG group? Technically the answer is no, you are only accountable to your personal GMG group……..BUT every Wednesday we open our blog up to hear from YOU!!! If you are a blogger, we invite you to link up with us and share what you are learning through your quiet times. If you don’t have a blog then comment on Wednesday’s post by sharing what you are learning. Wednesday is our “Women In The Word” day and we open our blog up and invite women from all the GMG groups to share what they are learning, it’s not required but it’s so encouraging to see how God is moving in other people’s lives as they read His Word!

Do I have to do the James Book Club to join GMG? No, your group can choose whichever book of the bible or bible study they would like to go through instead. You do not have to be apart of the James Book Club to join GMG.

What is the purpose of GMG? Our purpose is to be accountable to each other and to help each other maintain the discipline of reading God’s word daily.

James Book Club Downloads- IF you are doing the James Book Club with us, then download the Week 1 S.O.A.P print-out for this week’s quiet times.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Praying you all have a wonderful week getting to know each other as you share what you are learning through your quiet times!

Until next time…

Love God Greatly!

  1. I am so excited to be doing this. and I am inspired to complete the bible in this format one book at a time following an outline for the book. No more entire bible in a year I never get to meditate on all the words just a few of them! I wrote Tired of Failure here on Soccer Mom in Giggle Town -

  2. I just completed day 1 of this method. I had never heard of the SOAP method of studying the Bible before but I think I really like it! I was able to really look at and think about the wording and meaning in those first two verses.

  3. LOL…I had a difficult time stopping at the comma (,) after verse two. I was ready to move on to day two. hahahaha! I LOVE the SOAP method by the way.

  4. Excited to join you for the 2nd year in a row. Blessings to you both!

  5. I’ve so very excited to be starting this for the first time! Praise God I stumbled across your site when I was asking God for a way to draw closer to him for my daughters’ sake.

I’m going to read these scriptures to my baby girl each day even though she doesn’t fully understand. ( she’s 13 months) I want to impart the word into her life more fully.

  6. It is okay if I am doing this study on my own?

  7. Hooray! I am so glad so many of you are joining us!!! :-)

Kelly-Jo – yes- you do not need a group to participate in the study!!!

    Keep Walking with the King!

  8. I’m joining you on my own as well. Glad that is ok. I love the book of James–one of my favorite. Plan to blog about my Bible study time. Thanks for helping us keep accountable to stay in the Word.

  9. Lisa Maria says:

Hi, I’m Lisa and I live in the West Indies, Trinidad to be precise. I don’t have a group at this time, maybe someday I’ll be able to organise one, but I will be following along. I really enjoy your blogs Courtney and I check out some of the other links you have.. Time Warp Wives, Raising Homemakers to name two. Thanks for the inspiration! May God bless all of you and your efforts to build His Kingdom

  10. I’m excited to be studying the book of James. I’ve really been struggling with some things in my life and am looking forward to see what God has to show me through this study.

  11. I’ll be honest, I’ve never done a Bible study–so I’m pretty excited about this. Thank you, Natasha Miller, for posting it on Facebook!

  12. EvainAustralia says:

Just did the first day! When I wrote it out I though, ‘how on earth am I going to get any observations or applications from this little bit?’, but, of course, there was plenty to think about. So glad to be wrong : ).

  13. Ohhh thank you sweet friends for all your comments today! Courtney and I just love to hear from you! So glad to hear you have all enjoyed day 1! Praying for ALL of you!!!

  14. I am also loving this SOAP method! I never would have gotten what I did out of these first two verses without taking the time. Also wanted to comment that each of the 4 girls in my GMG group are studying something different. However even on day one it was amazing how we were able to compare different verses from different books (different Testaments as well) and apply the same truth. Just a small example of God’s unchanging love!

  15. I went ahead and started this study a few days ago. I am also doing it on my own. But will blog about it on weds.It is so neat that this is the book that our pastor is going though also at our church. So I am learning a lot. No matter how many times I go through James I always learn something. It is life changing! Thank you for this study.
    God’s Blessings!

  16. I don’t know why, but I am unable to login or see the message board. Could someone just adopt me into their group and email me that I’m in? I’m 53, 2 grown children, 3 8/9 grandchildren and live in Richmond, Va. Thanks!

  17. Hi everybody! I’m Dorothee from Germany. It is a great pleasure for me to join GMG. I read about GMG in Germany and joined the German group of Katja-EBH. I find it a great challenge to study the bible according to the SOAP-method. During the day this method helps me a lot to remember what I have read in morning.
Take care and god bless you.
    Dorothee

  18. I too would love to jump in this bible study with you all. Looking forward to what I will glean from this experience!

  19. Hi Angela,
I was wondering how I might join a group to start the book of James study?
    :-)

  20. Hi Sarah!

We would love to have you! Go to our message board (link is at the top right next to “Home”) there add your name and information to the “If you don’t have a group” thread and let everyone know that you are wanting to join a group. :)

    Love God Greatly!

    -Angela

  21. Thank you for keeping your old Bible studies and materials available on your website for free! It’s great to be able to pick something done even three years ago to study with a group of women at any time throughout the year.

It’s wonderful what you’ve done to bring God’s word to many women around the world :)
